Picture a brilliant young engineering student studying under the flickering flame of a candle late at night, turning worn textbook pages with big dreams of becoming a software developer or data scientist.

For thousands of youths across Nigerian public tertiary institutions, the biggest obstacle standing between them and a STEM degree isn't a lack of ambition, it's financial strain. From rising tuition and expensive textbooks to accommodation and project costs, STEM degrees are often among the most financially demanding paths to pursue.

At Afro-Tech Girls, we believe financial constraints should never derail a woman's future in technology. That’s why we created the Project 100 Scholarship Initiative.

A Legacy of Impact

What began as a targeted effort to relieve academic pressure for a small group of students has grown into an empowering movement across public universities and polytechnics in Nigeria. For years, the Afro-Tech Girls community has initiated several Project for 100 Scholarships from Project100for10 to Project100for20, Project100for50, and now Project100for100!

Over 1,200 applications have been processed throughout the program's history, directly supporting 110 beneficiaries as at 2025, many of whom have gone on to graduate, complete NYSC, and step into impactful STEM careers across Nigeria.

A ₦100,000 scholarship might cover tuition fees, a semester's worth of textbooks, internet subscriptions for online coursework, or safe transportation to campus. 

But more than financial relief, it signals to these young women that an entire community believes in their potential.
