Project 100 for 50 is HERE! Get Ready to Spark Your STEM Dream

Imagine Olami, a brilliant young female Engineering Student from Ilorin, Nigeria. Due to inadequate power supply, the dancing red flame from the burning candle fuels her sight to her late-night studies, as she flips through the pages of her slightly worn but cherished textbooks . She dreams of attaining a career in STEM whether it is a future Engineer or Data Scientist, But her reality is like walking on a tightrope walk, she seems farther away from her dream, an unattainable climb to the tallest mountain.

One of the major challenges girls like Olami face is not having the financial support or means to pursue their dreams of a STEM career. In addition, STEM related courses are often the most expensive in Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics. With increasing school fees, accommodation fees, and other related academic costs, there is a huge need to support Nigerian girls with limited capacity to continue on with their studies.

This is a simplified story of thousands of young Nigerian female students. And this is where Afro-Tech Girls steps in.

The Legacy of Project 100 Scholarship

For years, the Afro-Tech Girls community has initiated several Project for 100 Scholarships from Project100for10 to Project100for20, a sum that became a lifeline for 60 brilliant female STEM students. These young women are now university graduates, contributing their skills to the STEM Space in Nigeria; some had completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and others were able to leverage the funds to acquire essential educational materials, making their academic journey smoother and more focused.

Now, we're taking the next leap.
